Skiathos is considered one of the most beautiful island of Greece and the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades. It is gifted with natural beauty. There are over 60 beaches on the island; in the south there are the most popular, mild in texture whilst in the north there are the more isolated with a wild beauty to satisfy all demands.

Hora is the capital and the only village of the island. It is built amphitheatrically over a verdant hill with about 5,000 residents. Crossing the narrow alleys with their whitewashed paving one can meet many churches, chapels and traditional whitewashed houses with their colourful gardens and yards.

There is the impressive Byzantine monastery of Panagia Kounistra with its beautiful carved wood chanel screen, the medieval city, the Castle and many more monastery ruins.
